Gary Michael Dougherty. Entered peacefuly into rest on March 4, 2002. He was 54 years of age. A native of Oakland, CA, Gary was a man of many talents. He worked for General Motors for over 15 years before pursuing his love for art. He became a self-employed artist and painter who was known for many of the window murals for holiday seasons at numerous shopping centers. His artwork will be cherished and remembered forever. He also enjoyed other interests such as camping, gardening, and collecting beer cans. He is survived by his children Michael Dougherty, Conan Dougherty and Tenisha Moleiro. His father, Robert Dougherty, sisters Diane DeCoite, Shannon Tavares and brother David Dougherty. Gary is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his mother Pauline Dougherty in 1982. Visitation for Gary will be held on Saturday (March 9) from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Grissom's San Lorenzo Chapel/Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will be private.
