Setting Up Dialup in Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) / 10.4 (Tiger)
- On the Apple menu, click System Preferences.
- Click the Network icon.
- Next to "Show:", select your modem.
- If it isn't already selected, click the PPP tab.
- Enter the following information:
- Service Provider: Foothill.net
- Account Name: Your username
- Password: Your password
- Telephone Number: Your dialup number
- Click "PPP Options..."
- Check "Connect automatically..."
- Uncheck "Disconnect if idle for 10 minutes", if it isn't already, and click OK.
- Click the TCP/IP tab.
- Next to "Configure IPv4:", select "Using PPP."
- Click the Modem tab.
- Next to "Modem:", make sure your modem is selected.
- Check "Show modem status in menu bar."
- Click Apply Now.
- To connect, click the modem icon in the menu bar and click Connect.
- To disconnect, click the modem icon, and click Disconnect.
