Setting Up Dialup in Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar)

  1. On the Apple menu, click System Preferences.
  2. Click the Network icon.
  3. Next to "Show:", select your modem.
  4. Click the TCP/IP tab.
  5. Next to "Configure:", select "Using PPP."
  6. Click the PPP tab.
  7. Enter the following information:
    • Description: Foothill.net
    • Telephone Number: Your dialup number
    • Account Name: Your username
    • Password: Your password
  8. Click "PPP Options..."
  9. Check "Connect automatically..." and click OK.
  10. Click the Modem tab.
  11. Next to "Modem:", make sure your modem is selected.
  12. Check "Show modem status in menu bar."
  13. Click Apply Now.
  14. To connect, click the modem icon in the menu bar and click Connect.
  15. To disconnect, click the modem icon, and click Disconnect.
