New Gate at McKeon-Ponderosa Way and Loop Trail Map

New design of Gate on the McKeon-Ponderosa Way Trail

Larry Jordan checking out the gate.

With Larry Jordan working and Larry Clarke watching Jordan work. A fine time was had by all.

McKeon-Ponderosa Way intersects Foresthill Rd. at the lower edge of Todd Valley. McKeon-Ponderosa Way is a private road and is a popular route for bicycle riders, equestrians, pedestrians and now -- horse-drawn carts.

The next day Larry Clarke and Al Richardson tried the new gate out.

Apache went right through without a hitch.
Several others were passing by and the new gate was easier for everyone to get through. Thank you, State Parks & Rec, for allowing us to make the changes.

There is no room to park or to turn a vehicle around at the gate. It is best to park at White Oak Flat which is .5 miles above the gate.

If you have any pictures of trails please send them as an attachment to Larry Clarke
