Oh-So Scenic Training Bike/Run (~23 miles)

Date: Saturday, March 20, 1999

Start: 8:00 am. At White Oak Flat. Directions from I-80. Take Foresthill Rd Exit, after 12 miles turn right on McKeon-Ponderosa Way, stay to the right on McKeon-Ponderosa 2.25 miles to White Oak Flat.

Course: The run/bike will begin at White Oak Flat, follow McKeon-Ponderosa Way (dirt road) down the the Middle Fork, go up Driver's Flat Rd to join the Foresthill Divide Loop trail. Go around the loop and then come back to White Oak Flat.

Entry: Free, no cost but by pre-registration only. If you want the results mailed to you, include a a Self Address Stamped Envelope. Limited to 70 people.

Awards: None, however, results will be recorded for age/sex finishers. No T-shirts.

Aid: We will have aid stations at the gravel parking area near the top of Driver's Flat Rd, at Upper Lake Clementine Rd, and at the bottom of McKeon-Ponderosa before the last uphill. We recommend participants carry water bottles.

In consideration of acceptance of my entry in the Oh So Scenic Event: I hereby agree to comply with the rules, conditions and regulations of the event, and the instruction of its directors. I am aware that an ultra event is difficult and hazardous for even well conditioned athletes, even under the most favorable conditions. I hereby attest and verify that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for the event and that my condition has been tested by both running marathon or longer distances previously, and having been checked by a licensed medical doctor. With full knowledge of the above, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive, release and discharge the Foresthill Trails Alliance, its committee, officers, volunteers, sponsors, the town of Foresthill, CA, Placer County, the department of parks and recreation of the state of California from any and all claims and/or liability for any damage, for any and all injuries to me or my property, or for liability for damage caused by me or to anyone else arising from my participation in this event and related activities. I further agree to hold harmless the Foresthill Trails Alliance, its committees, officers, volunteers, sponsors (as above) from any claims, demands, or actions, including court and attorneys fees that may be incurred as a result of any claim that I or my guests or any one of my heirs, executors and administrators brought or prosecuted for my benefit contrary to this agreement. I further acknowledge that I have sole responsibility for my personal possessions and equipment, including transportation by vehicle, before, during and after the event. I hereby consent to receive free medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, or illness during the event. I hereby accept full responsibility for knowing and following the designated course.
