Letter from the Editor:

Although this newsletter is pretty short, please know that the Trails Alliance is on the job. The slash pile at the Patent Rd. Staging Area continues to be a thorny issues and needs to be removed. At the August meeting its demise will be scheduled. The fundraising goals for gravel and project completion are being met (Big Thanks to all the Generous Donors!) although, with more money and volunteers, FTA could accomplish so much more.

There are questions regarding trail access from the Trailhead Development and there will be some answers for the August meeting and probably a few more questions. Please plan on attending if possible. The Foresthill Divide Trail system depends on concerned trail users actively supporting and protecting the trails we have and developing new ones to keep up with increased usage.

If you know anybody interested in joining the Trails Alliance they can join here.

Higher elevation with cooler temperatures trails to explore in August are located within the Tahoe National Forest. The office on Foresthill Road has maps and trail descriptions, so head for the hills for cleaner and cooler air.

Be careful, carry lots of water and enjoy!!!
