Work Party!!

Can you help on Saturday July 20 from 8 to 11 AM to help remove the Brush Pile at the staging Area? We will remove what we can and take it over to the transfer station.

Bring gloves and energy.

This is a big job with no easy way to get it done so the more people we have helping the faster we can get it finished and move on to spreading the gravel. So mark your calendars.

Happy 4th of July

FTA’s president Lori Lunsford (and family) had a very busy 4th. Steve Lunsford drove the decorated truck with horse trailer and Lori rode Dapper in the parade. Niece Katie and son Justin threw 30 pounds of candy while Lori’s Dad( Jim) led the family goat(Kid). This family and their animals attracted lots of attention during the parade and in the Memorial park everyone stopped by the booth to see the animals. Steve spent three hours picking kids up for their first " horseback ride".

Along with the "Ride the Divide" information there was information on FTA and the Patent Road Staging Area.

A raffle was held with Marla Triggs(age 10) winning a two hour ride for two($120.00 value) and proceeds($55.00) from the raffle were donated to the "Gravel Fund" for the Patent Road Staging Area.

Thank You, Ponderosa Trail Rides!!

Foresthill Heritage Celebration

Foresthill will again commemorate its founding in 1850 with a two-day Labor Day Weekend event called the Foresthill Heritage Celebration.
The celebration, slated for Saturday and Sunday, August 31st and September 1st, takes place in Foresthill’s beautiful Memorial Park. Local community organizations will present several venues, including the 1850-style Gold Miners Gathering (complete with a traditional tent city and peddler’s craft and food purveyor’s fair), the Foresthill American Legion’s Annual Pig Roast, the California State Gold Panning Championships presented by the Mother Lode Goldhounds, and Early California displays by the Todd Valley Miwok-Maidu Cultural Foundation and the Foresthill Historical Society.
The Foresthill Heritage Celebration kicks off on Saturday, August 31, with a parade down Main Street and into the park. Event visitors can participate in various lumberjack and gold panning contests, take a ride in an authentic stage coach, wander through a re-created tent city, learn blacksmithing, check out the Foresthill Divide Museum, take a walking tour of Foresthill’s historic downtown area, and sample a wide variety of foods including roast pig and Indian tacos. Local Boy Scout Troops will serve up a pancake breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday mornings, and the Foresthill Minister’s Association has scheduled an Old Time Revival service on Sunday morning in the park’s Memorial Hall. Admission to all events is free.
Event sponsors include the Mother Lode Goldhounds, Foresthill American Legion, Todd Valley Miwok-Maidu Cultural Foundation, Foresthill Historical Society, U.S. Forest Service, and the Foresthill Divide Chamber of Commerce.
If you’re looking for wholesome family fun and entertainment, plan on attending the Foresthill Heritage Celebration over Labor Day Weekend this year.
