Oh So Scenic Training Run / Mt. Bike Ride
The 23 mile bike/run is Saturday, March 20th. For those people who have
preregistered, meet at 8:00 AM at White Oak Flat. White Oak Flat is
located near the end of McKeon-Ponderosa Way on the left.
This year's event will incorporate the new Foresthill Divide Loop Trail.
The route starts and finishes at White Oak Flat, goes down McKeon-Ponderosa
Way to the Middle Fork, up Driver's Flat Rd, then crosses Foresthill Rd and
goes on the Foresthill Divide Loop trail North Fork side first and returns
on the Middle Fork side to Driver's Flat Rd, then back to White Oak Flat
the way you came. There will be aid stations at the gravel parking area
near the top of Driver's Flat Rd, Upper Lake Clementine Rd, and at the
bottom of Driver's Flat Rd on the way back. Aid stations providing snacks
and beverages will be on the trail. For more information, call Jack Meyer
at (530) 367-4857.
Wildfire on the Divide
There will be a community event on May 16th at the Foresthill Divide Middle
School. The Trails Alliance will have a booth; please drop by and say "hi".
The information that you will be receiving during this event may save the
lives of your family, friends and pets. It may help you save your property.
We have been interested in evacuation plans and the procedures law
enforcement will be following in the case of a fire, especially as they apply
to horse owners who may not be allowed to take trailers on Foresthill Rd.
New Bridge on Foresthill Divide Loop Trail
Yeah! The new bridge was completed on the Middle Fork side. It crosses a
small creek and is safe for horses and bikes. No more sliding down the
muddy slope to scramble up the other side of the steep embankment. Thank
you Fattrack bike members club for the bridge!
Trail Scouting
A Digger Pine tree branch was blocking the Ponderosa Loop trail by
White Oak Flat. It was located near the sign and the road, and was very
large and impassable. Thank you to Dale for cutting it up and removing it.
Also, thank you to Dale for putting out his horse water tub, and maintaining
it, before you get to the green gate on McKeon-Ponderosa.
