A message from our president
This has been a very busy year for the Trail Alliance. Our members have been very active in the Foresthill community. We have members that are involved in the Chamber of Commerce, Foresthill Forum, Safety Club, Community Plan Team, Lions Club, High School Committee, PC Sheriff's substation volunteers, Place County Emergency Response Team, Wendell and Inez Robie Foundation, Western States Trail Foundation, Western States Endurance Run and many more. I cannot mention them all, the list is too long. My point is, it takes many people involved in all aspects of our community to keep our trails open.
The Foresthill Trails Alliance members have been working hard to keep up with the new developments on the divide, to keep old trails open and to acquire new ones. When trails are in jeopardy, a large organized group such as the Foresthill Trails Alliance can be a powerful voice. With the rapid growth and expansion of our community, we cannot become apathetic and expect trails to remain open.
Volunteers have been working at the Patent Road Staging Area. We now need to do the final grading and have about ten truckloads of gravel spread. Soon we will be able to start working on the connecting trail. In 2001 our group participated in the Wildfire on the Divide, Safety Festival, Sugar Pine Nature Day and we helped with traffic control at Michigan Bluff for the Western States Endurance Run. The Foresthill Trails Alliance plans on continuing to be involved in our community and keep trails alive and open for EVERYONE.
HAPPY TRAILS, Lori Lunsford
President 2002
