Map of New Trail to be built near Foresthill Rd.

After a year of planning and pushing, Greg Wells, our local State Parks and Rec Ranger, received approval to begin building a new trail. This new trail will be a multi-use loop trail, approximately 8 miles in length, on both sides of Foresthill Rd. It will cross Foresthill Rd. by the Grizzly Bear House/little water hole at the lower end and by the pullout near Driver's Flat at 8-mile curve on the upper end. The public is invited to help build this trail. So far we have had two work days.

Trail Building Training, March 2

Greg arranged to start off with a three-hour hands-on class in trail building which he and Mark Lambert, from the Forest Service, taught Saturday, March 2nd. About 60 people attended. After the lecture, we built the first 300 yards of trail.

California Trail Days, April 28th

We had about 20 people from the FTA and FATRAC and built another 400 yards of trail.
