Todd Valley Trail
The Todd Valley Trail is
built along the seasonal Todd Creek and extends 1.3 miles through the center of
Todd Valley, near Foresthill, CA. The trail is part of the historic Western
States Trail and is open to hikers, equestrians and mountain bikes. This is a
Placer County trail and is very easy to access and
traverse. Parking is available on
Todd Valley Road near Green Leaf Lane. Things to see and do – a nice cool trail, tadpole and frog
gathering, wildlife. Things to
watch out for – poison oak.
This trail is
lightly used and is a great place to take the kids for a hike or a horse
ride. The trail starts near the
intersection of Todd Valley Road and Green Leaf Lane and travels along
Todd Creek to Happy Pines Drive, near
Dahlberg Ct. About
halfway through is a grassy area known as the “park” and allows access to the
trail from Silverleaf Drive, near Parkwood Court. Trail
improvements have been made by the Foresthill Trails Alliance, working closely
with Placer County.
In particular, trail “burritos” were added near Todd Valley Road to reduce the marsh area of the trail
during the winter. No motorized vehicles
of any kind are allowed on the trail.
