Foothill.net, A LOCAL INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER, LAUNCHES FALL '99 ISSUE OF "GATEWAY
TO THE UNIVERSE" MAGAZINE
Foothill.Net, one of the top Internet Service Providers in the greater Sacramento area, created "Gateway to the Universe" magazine to help new Internet users get
past the basic fear of new technology and new ways of communicating.
"Our first issue was a roaring success, and our second issue, double the size of our first, is being
delivered free to all of our customers this week", said Rick Wagner, Vice President and Chief Systems Administrator.
Michele Wagner, President of Foothill.Net, explained; "We discovered that some of our customers,
new to computers and new to the Internet, felt awkward facing these new technologies. But, they knew if they didn't
get on the wagon now, they would be left behind. We began thinking; if we can make our customers learning curve
more comfortable, with something they can curl up with in their easy chair, and keep as a reference, we could help
them make an easier transition into current and future communication technologies".
The content of the magazine includes feature articles detailing the successes of Foothill.Net customers
doing Business-on-the-Internet. There's also a kid's page with tips regarding safety on the Internet, advice on
how to get the best Internet service, hardware & software product reviews, Internet discoveries and a Letters
to the Editor column. The publisher's promise that magazine content development will continue as a result of responding
to their customer's wishes.
The "Fall" issue of "Gateway to the Universe" magazine hits the streets this week.
Distribution goes to the Foothill.Net customer base first, then to Chambers of Commerce, Computer Sales &
Service Stores, and other select establishments. The magazine is free to everyone on the distribution list and
to anyone who requests a copy, as long as they last. The magazine is paid for through advertisements placed by
Foothill.Net Business-on-the-Internet customers.
