Foresthill ISP Credits Growth to Personal Touch
Foothill.Net, an Internet service provider located in Foresthill, was started from scratch eight years ago by Rick and Michelle Wagner. The company now has thousands of customers, mainly in its foothills service area, from Foresthill to Sacramento, but also many scattered across the country. The Wagners credit their strong customer base to their personal touch (a live person answers calls), first-class technical support, and top-notch web services, including one of the lowest-priced web hosting packages available. They pride themselves on keeping abreast of the latest advances in technology, and have recently introduced an online general interest magazine, "Gateway to the Universe." Foothill.Net employs about 20 people.

Foothill.Net Installs Fiber
In 1999 Foothill.Net decided to expand its dominance in the four Counties and put in a Fiber optic backbone. Foothill.Net
went looking for the site that would provide the highest bandwidth to its customers. After finding a location at the Airport
Industrial Park, Foothill.Net ordered the fiber. In July of 2000 Pacific Bell placed the Fiber and has 2 OC12 Multiplexers
(622 megabits each) at Foothill.Net's disposal. Foothill.Net has placed a M13 multiplexer and has ordered a Redback SMS 500.
