Setting Up Windows 95 Dial-Up Networking

  1. Double click on My Computer.
  2. Double click on Dial-Up Networking.
  3. Double click on "Make New Connection".
  4. Type in Foothill.Net where it says My Connection.
  5. Click on Next.
  6. Type in area code and phone number you are dialing to.
  7. Click on Next.
  8. Click Finish.
  9. Right click on the Foothill.Net connection you just made and click on Properties.
  10. Click on the tab called Server Types.
  11. Click on TCP/IP Settings.
  12. Make sure that "Server Assigned IP Address" is selected.
  13. Make sure that "Server Assigned Name Server Addresses" is selected.
  14. Make sure that "Use IP header compression" and "Use default gateway on remote network" are checked.
  15. Once this is done, if you would like a shortcut of that icon put on your desktop, right click on your connection icon and click "Create Shortcut".
