The Colfax Area Historical Society (CAHS) preserves the local history of Colfax, California, and the surrounding area by collecting stories, photographs, and artifacts about the people and buildings in this part of the Sierra foothills.

The Colfax Area Heritage Museum is open daily, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Calendar of meetings and events
Fall 2013 – 2014

October 26, 2013
Saturday, 6:30 p.m.

General Fall meeting and ice cream social.

Our speaker will be Steve Coverston, whose high school students created a yearly calendar with historical drawings of local scenes. Mr. Coverston taught drafting and fine arts at Colfax High School for over 30 years. He still teaches at Placer Adult School. He will have some of his own work for sale.


January 16, 2014

Winter board meeting at the Colfax Passenger Depot.

February 21, 2014
Friday evening

General winter meeting with program. We are hoping to do this at the Colfax Theater.

April 10, 2014
Thursday, 10 a.m.

Spring board meeting at the Colfax Passenger Depot.

May 17, 2014
Saturday evening

General spring meeting with program (TBD).

June 19, 2014
Thursday, 10 a.m.

Summer board meeting at the Colfax Passenger Depot. This meeting will include the nomination of officers.

July 26, 2014
Saturday evening

General summer meeting. This will be an ice cream social and a program. This meeting will include the election of officers.

September 11, 2014
