Troop
4 - Chartered by the Grass Valley Host Lions Club
"On May 2, 1923, the Grass
Valley Elks Lodge made an application for a
Scout troop to be formed in
Grass Valley. A.B. Snyder, Exalted Ruler
of the Elks at the time, was
a very interested Scouter. As a result,
Troop 4 was sponsored by the
Elks until 1928. When the Grass Valley
Lions Club organized that same
year, they took over the
sponsorship of the Troop, a
position they have held ever since -
renewing the Troop's charter
each year since."

pose with the Troop's new equipment trailer at the Scout Lodge.
Donated by the Lions Club, the Troop uses the weathertight trailer
to transport gear to their campsites and trail heads.
For over 70 years the Grass Valley Host Lions Club has
supported Grass Valley's Troop4. The Scouts of Troop4
and our Community want to say 'Thank You' to the Lions
for helping us to help our home town and its young men.
